This Week: Rotary on the Road at Cliff's Dive Bar 
Here's an opportunity to take advantage of our Fifth Wednesday time to get to know our fellow Rotarians. No program. Just food, fun and fellowship. 
 
Please join us if you can at Cliff's Dive Bar at 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, October 29. You'll find this eatery at 227 2nd Ave SE, Cedar Rapids. This is one of Cale Henderson's places that he talked about during his presentation. Email Mike (mikewagner@alliantenergy.com) by 5 p.m. on the Tuesday before so we can tell them how many people are coming.

November is Rotary Foundation Month and Rotary District 5970 Foundation Chair Michelle Bell will join us to talk about the foundation and the work it focuses on. 

This month is dedicated to highlighting The Rotary Foundation and encouraging Rotarians to support Rotary's humanitarian and educational projects around the world, which adress issues like poverty, disease and illiteracy.

Last Week: October 22 Service Event: Cops n Kids at Matthew:25 
Our October service event is in the books! We had a huge crew of Rotarians on hand for our October service event cleaning and sorting books for the Cops N Kids program. I'm pretty sure I heard one of the organizers say that we emptied all of the books in their storage room. The program's goal is to distribute 5,000 books annually to at-risk children in the Central District of Cedar Rapids.
