Toronto Beach
Kew Gardeners Cottage

Santa makes his annual stop at Kew Gardens’ historic landmark home to visit with the Beach neighbourhood’s boys and girls.

Early in December our Rotary Club decorates the Gardener’s Cottage for the Christmas season. Green boughs and sparkling lights are strung up around the picturesque verandah, and inside the century old house, renovated by our Rotary Club in 2005, a Christmas tree is adorned in handmade decorations with a Victorian ambiance to complement the period style.

This lovely scene is at the heart of our annual visit from Santa. Two weeks before Christmas, this year it IS Saturday December 9, the doors of the Cottage are open from 11 to 3 for neighbourhood families to bring their children to sit on Santa’s knee. The welcoming aroma of hot chocolate and the sounds of Christmas music fill the air to complete the enchanting sight.

Donations of non-perishable food items and cash contributions for Centre 55’s Hamper Christmas are gratefully received.

It is a very special day, loved by all who experience the wonderful spirit of giving and friendship that radiates at this time of year.
