Our Third Four Way Test Golf Tournament

On September 12, the club hosted the third annual golf tournament at 4 Seasons Country Club. This was a perfect spot for the Four Way Test to build our friendships and good will in Rotary and among our clients. This tournament happened amidst heavy morning rains. Despite the initial weather challenges, over 50 golfers and dedicated volunteers eagerly awaited an improvement. Fortunately, the forecast proved accurate, with the rains ceasing just before the noon tee-off time. The golfers embarked on their 18-hole challenges, resulting in a thoroughly enjoyable experience for all. We extend heartfelt thanks to our sponsors, donors, and volunteers for their invaluable support.

The 22nd Annual Scarborough Ribfest 2023

Held over the Civic Holiday weekend in August each year at Thomson Memorial Park (Brimley & Lawrence), is Scarborough’s biggest family event and brings together members from every age and every community. Members of Rotary, their families and many friends volunteer their time to make this the outstanding event of the year. We had the last between August 4 – 7, 2023. We look forward to another successful RibFest and help Rotary support its charitable projects.

Tree of Remembrance

This is a Rotary Club of Scarborough Charitable Foundation Project. It takes place during the holiday season to remember a loved one or somebody significant in one’s life. The public is usually welcome to contribute to each ribbon and will then write a dedication on the yellow ribbon and place the ribbon on the Rotary Tree of Remembrance. All contributions received are used to the betterment of those most vulnerable in our communities. At the end of the season, the ribbons are collected and take for blessing.

Cakes, Hams, and Shortbread

A community Service Project, this is a club fundraiser where Rotarians and members of the public are called upon to place orders for these Christmas gifts. This Christmas assortment includes very tasty fruit cakes, Scottish short bread, and Brandt Black Forest style Hams. Order by November 15 of every year.

Scarborough Police Auxiliary Toy Drive

This is an opportunity for Rotarians and members of the public to help the needy youth in Scarborough by donating to the Police Auxiliary Toy Drive through our Charitable Foundation. For the first $1,000 donated the RCoSCF doubles the donation, and a tax receipt will be issued for any donation. This project takes place from November of every year.

Christmas Families and Christmas Elves

Christmas Elves is a project for Rotary volunteers to sign up to assist shop and or take a Christmas Family basket or a Senior’s basket. Here the Christmas elves indicate their preference of small or older children, family or senior to shop. Funds are usually provided for the shopping. The number of families is usually between 10 – 15 and 5 for Seniors. This is one of the most satisfying projects.
