Community Services Committee
Club members who choose to participate in the Community Services Committee take care of the review and investigation of local community projects or initiatives requesting or requiring financial or sweat-equity support from the Rotary Club of Scarborough. The Committee members vet the proposed spending requests and make recommendations to the Board of Directors. Review and selection of proposals is based on pre-determined criteria influenced to the Vision & Strategic Planning Committee's findings and the overall focus of the Club, Rotary International and the current initiatives undertaken by both. Members can choose to serve on more than one Committee. Members meet once a month to discuss proposals and projects undertaken.
Club Service and Programs
Club members who choose to participate in the Club Service and Programs Committee take care of Club operations, activities, meetings, luncheon speaker guests, social activities and also assist with the facilitation of other Committee's initiative from a member information and support perspective. Members of the Rotary Club of Scarborough are likely to contact the Club Service Committee members about any and all matters related to their Club membership, attendance, suggestions for social or other activities, etc. Members can choose to serve on more than one Committee. This committee meets once a month to discuss Club operations.
Fundraising Committee
Club members who choose to participate in the Fundraising Committee take responsibility for the Scarborough Rotary Ribfest planning and execution, with the support of the full membership of the Rotary Club who volunteer at the event or may hold other positions assigned by the Fundraising Committee as desired. The Committee may, time to time, organize or initiate other fundraising events or projects to augment the Club fundraising efforts. Members can choose to serve on more than one Committee. Members meet once a month to discuss proposals and projects undertaken but in the case of the Ribfest sub-Committee, a much more intensive meeting schedule is required. Email:

International Committee
Club members who choose to participate on the International Committee take care of the review and investigation of international projects or initiatives requesting or requiring financial or sweat-equity support from the Rotary Club of Scarborough. Membership Committee
Takes care of the current members and the recruitment, review and support or incoming applicants or members through liaison, mentorship and out-reach initiatives. Prospective new members of The Rotary Club of Scarborough are likely to meet with a member of this Committee as their first point of contact and the Committee members assist the prospective member to understand the Club and all it has to offer and support new members to become active Rotarians. This Committee is also responsible for the retention of existing members. Membership meets once a month.
Environment Committee
The Environment Committee in our Rotary Club plays a pivotal role in nurturing our community's green aspirations. Public Relations Committee
Public Relations (PR), also known as Public Image is one of the more vital committees of a Rotary Club, or any organization for that matter. The committee is charged with the continued growth and service of the club. Responsibilities extend to all other areas of club function, and include “telling the Rotary story to the public, promoting project’s that the club is involved in, and maintaining a plan of action.
A positive Rotary Club image is a motivation to current and new members, as well as encourage prospective members in joining.
