Silver Anniversary Curling Event for Charity benefitting the Canadian Spinal Research Organization (CSRO)
“25th Anniversary Goldline Spinal Tap Charity Curling Bonspiel” will be Saturday, April 2, 2016 11:30am through 4:00pm ET at the Thornhill Country Club, 7994 Yonge Street (Yonge S. of 407) followed by a dinner/dance at 7:00pm.
After suffering a catastrophic spinal cord injury in a diving accident in 1990, Ryan Durham has devoted the last 25 years of his life acting as an ambassador for CSRO, assisting in their goal of finding a cure for paralysis resulting from spinal cord injury.
Ryan was a competitive curler up until his injury, thus he created a charity curling event, the Spinal Tap, which is now celebrating its silver anniversary.
This year’s event will take the 25-year fundraising total over the $600,000 plateau.
The event consists of 100 participants playing two games of curling, a gala dinner/dance, and a draw challenge, where all participants will throw from a wheelchair.
