You are invited to join us on Tuesday September 29th  for an All Candidates Meeting at the Langstaff Community Centre, 155 Red Maple Road, 6:30 to 9:00 PM.  The Richmond Hill Rotary Club along with The Richmond Hill Chamber of Commerce, OnRichmondHill.com, York Region Media Group and the Richmond Hill/Markham Chinese Business Association will be hosting the event.

Below is a short bio of three of the candidates for the riding of Richmond Hill, courtesy  of York Region Media Group.
 
NDP CANDIDATE ADAM DeVITA
Adam DeVita is a professional engineer and community organizer who is ready to fight for constituent priorities in Parliament alongside NDP leader Tom Mulcair. He was nominated by local NDP members and the national party in February.
 
As an engineer, DeVita has 15 years’ experience in the high technology sector, designing software, computer electronics and quality management systems. He earned his engineering degree from the University of Toronto and also has a certificate in Preventive Engineering and Social Development, which considers environmental, technological and social-economic issues.
 
A father of two, he has lived in Richmond Hill for 39 years. For the last 18 years, he has volunteered at Richmond Hill United Church and for the Richmond Hill NDP, the last 10 as president. He has worked on several election campaigns — as a canvass organizer, financial agent, campaign manager and ultimately as a candidate.

LIBERAL CANDIDATE MAJID JOWHARI
Majid Jowhari has been an active member of the Liberal Party since 1987, chosen to be the Richmond Hill riding candidate with Team Trudeau last September and has been a resident of Richmond Hill for the past 16 years.
 
He is married to his wife of 25 years and have two children. He is a professional engineer with an MBA from the Schulich School of Business and a Certified Management Accountant.
 
A CEO of his own consulting firm, he brings 30 years of combined industry and consulting experience across many sectors, with senior management roles in corporations such as Deloitte Consulting, Apotex and Alcatel.
 
He has been a member of the Richmond Hill Chamber of Commerce, the Heart and Stroke Foundation and other cultural organizations.

CONSERVATIVE CANDIDATE MICHAEL PARSA
The federal Conservative candidate for Richmond Hill is Michael Parsa, acclaimed as part of the Harper campaign team in July of 2014.
 
Michael and his wife have been married for 10 years and have been living in Richmond Hill since 2002.
 
Parsa has a degree in organizational management and is a senior member of the family business engaged in the retail sale of furniture and mattresses since the early 1990s.
In his community, he sits on the board of the local Optimist Club, which he joined in 2005 and served as president until 2009. He has participated in numerous local events, including the Richmond Hill Santa Claus Parade for the past five years, as one of the three judges, alongside the mayor.
