International Night- May 9- Paul mentioned that 240 tickets have been sold-goal is to reach 300 sold. Tax receipts of $40 per ticket will be issued. Brief meeting tonight. Looking for items for silent auction. Wine bottles will be accepted.

Golf Tournament- June 17-registration going well-Now have food sponsors. Looks like we will be making a profit.
Beer Fest- July- sponsors are signing up and venue is booked.

Ted- will be sending a pledge form around to members to support Kostas and Ted who are taking part in the Trump Aids Walk on April 26. Please contribute.
The Fund for Jean Do has now raised more than $7k. We have signed a contract and goal is to raise $14k by summer.

Dave T.- District Assembly- May 3- 6 members confirmed so far. Please e-mail Dave if you want to attend
Next year’s Board to also include now-Vocational-Jason, Youth- Steve, Clubs- Nash, Membership- David O., Marketing- Peter, Community- Paul V. and Ted. Dave is still working on the position of International.
May 5 meeting-a lot of ideas will be presented for next year. It will be a working session with lots of feedback needed.

Susan- Community Initiatives
-thank you note read to Club expressing thanks for support form the RH Soccer Club
-Sat. April 26-need help from 9-10am at Rotary Park for cleanup. Bags and gloves will be provided by town. E-mail Susan if you can help out.
-April 22- Earth Day-The town will be doing tree planting at Richmond Green from 10-3. Susan will be send e-mails with all the details.

Dr. Abarra- Camp Enterprise- 6 students will be attending from RH and 5 are on a waiting list. If there are spaces left  from other clubs hopefully some of these students will be able to fill them.



Special Speaker-Betty Jo Parent- Toronto 2015- Pan Am Games

Nash introduced Betty Jo who is on the Organizing Committee that organizes, manages and delivers the Games next summer. She has spent 30 years in Logistics with Maple Leaf Foods and Kraft Canada. Mary Jo is a member of the Mississauga-West Rotary Club. She was a Rotary Exchange student to Australia in 1979-80 and her daughter an exchange student to Vienna in 2012-2013. Mary Jo is the newest member of the District 7080 Rotary Youth Exchange Committee.

Pan Am Games
  
In the summer of 2015 the largest international sporting event ever held in Canada will be coming to the GTA. The area covered by the events will include Oshawa to Hamilton and Minden to Welland. The Games will lead the largest peacetime shoutout for volunteers ever done in Ontario. This will be a massive cultural event. “The People’s Games” that will try to be intimate, authentic and accessible. 75% of the tickets will cost less that $45.
41 nations will be participating from July 10-26, 2015. The Paragames will run from Aug.7-15,2015. Between the two Games there will be 10,000 athletes/coaches/officials and 20,000 volunteers. 51 sports will be included.  Some of the events will be pre-qualifiers for the 2016 Olympics.

New sports that will be seen are woman’s basketball and team golf that will also be included in the 2016 Olympics.

Free transportation on buses. Etc. for volunteers and those with accreditation. Game day tickets will also allow free transit. Transportation and Security is co-ordinated by other groups. LOOKING FOR 20,000 VOLUNTEERS.
