The Rotary Club of Etobicoke in partnership with DUCA Financial Services and supported by Illumineer conducted the first Neighborhood Food Drive.
Rotary volunteers from our club with the help of Interact Volunteers from Richview Collegiate and Etobicoke Collegiate Institute , distributed on the 17th of October approximately 500 DUCA shopping bags in the neighborhood with a flyer printed by Illumineer asking for non perishable food donation that will be taken to a food bank. On the 21st of October the volunteers gathered to pick up the filled bags left by the front doors.
The response from the community was tremendous.
Over 110 bags were collected filled with non perishable food. A couple of residents included a monetary donation as well.
The bags were split into two, one went to the Salvation Army Temple in North Etobicoke Food Bank and the Second was taken to Salvation Army South Etobicoke Food Bank.
