Other than the Rotary Internal Conference, the 2023 District 9620 RotaryDistrict Conference is the pinnacle of years of planning from an organisation that consists of volunteers; Rotary.

The Rotary Club of Forest Lake, being the smallest Rotary Club in the District, had the honour of being selected as the Sergeants for the 2023 District 9620 RotaryDistrict Conference; and with their distinctive red shirts, they were perfect security guards for looking after the Keynote Speakers, VIPs, Guests and Rotarians.

With the Forest Lake's PROBUS 20th Anniversary Dinner coming up in Oct 2022, what and who is PROBUS?

Hmmm, you ask yourself how I can help the community and provide a better place for all; and you search the web for worthy service club and find Rotary International. However, after investigating a bit further into it, you find that membership into a Rotary club is by invitation only and there is a requirement to hold (or be retired from) a professional, proprietary, executive, managerial, or community position.

This is far from the truth for the Rotary Club of Forest Lake, as we have a dedicated Membership Director who is incredibly willing to assist and guide you in joining one of the best service clubs on this planet. I’m a bit biased on this subject, as I do enjoy my Rotary and making people smile; simple isn’t it.

Just a quick note, the Kite Festival, which was to be held at the Polaris Wetlands on 10 Jul 2021 has been canceled, another casualty of COVID 19.

A rare to sight in see in todays climate, the Dragon Boat and Multicultural Festive was once again held at Forest Lake, and the attendance was well above what was expected. The Rotary Club of Forest Lake had to restock, ensuring that everyone was fed. It was also nice to see funds pouring into the project account account after so many events have been cancelled.

7 Jul 2021 - Photo quality updated.

Councillor Angela Owen (Brisbane City Council, Calamvale Ward), the Rotary Club of Forest Lake and supporting community groups are hosting a free movie night at the Heathwood Park (140 Parkwood Dr, Heathwood QLD 4110) on the 13 Mar 2021. Ralph Breaks the Internet will start at 6:15 pm, with drinks, sausages, popcorn and coffee being available from 5:30pm. Bring along your pillows, blankets and your friends for a great time in the park.

With COVID 19 drastically restricting gatherings, it was an absolute pleasure to assist Councillor Angela Owen and her very professional team of volunteers in conducting this year’s Citizenship Ceremony at the Calamvale Community College. Every year, Councillor Angela Owen introduces a new and interesting facet into the ceremony; and this year, she did disappoint; welcoming all of the new Australian Citizens in their native language was impressive.

With the distances between every chair being measured, online attendance, temperatures being taken prior to entering the Calamvale Community College’s hall and the well organised check-in process ensured that the ceremony was safe as possible. All these additional requirements did not distract from a ceremony and was a pleasure to see that all attendees followed the additional safety requirements.
The Rotary Club of Forest Lake is currently meeting at Bostock House, Wacol, and Google Maps provides the incorrect location. Bostock House is located you just north of Mr Googles location on Ellerton Dr, adjacent to a large car park on the west side of road.
