Oldest member honoured

Paarl Rotary's oldest active member, Dave Overturf, recently received honorary membership of the club on his 90th birthday. This American-born former fighter pilot has had a remarkable career.

President Eugene has his last say

My year as president has come to an end, and what a busy year it was! It has passed in a flash, coming to an end at the end of June with the induction of our new president, Anne Kruger. I wish her the best for the Rotary year lying ahead. Congratulations are also due to Abie Martin who has been appointed Assistant Governor for the 2019-2020 year.

Specs for Africa

Nearly 120 pairs of spectacles for youngsters at local schools have been sponsored by Paarl Rotary, this year due to the waiting list at the Department of Health. Here Jacolien Bartolini (right) of Stellenbosch Optometrists fits Lesley-Ann Pietersen spectacles at Paarl School of Skills. Looking on with Rotary president Eugene Reynders are other recipients (from left) Tashlynn Jacobs, Natasha Fortuin, Lenwhin Abrahams and Duane Fortuin. A similar donation was also made to Paulus Joubert Secondary.
