Welcome to meeting No. 73 of
the Rotary eClub of Latitude 38

The Association of Fundraising Professionals has recognized The Rotary Foundation with its annual Award for Outstanding Foundation. (15 November 2016)

November is Rotary Foundation Month

The Rotary Foundation is Rotary’s own and only charity and in 2016/17 will be celebrating its centennial anniversary. We tap into a global network of Rotarians who invest their time, money, and expertise into our priorities, such as eradicating polio and our six Area of Focus.

President's Message

Welcome to Meeting No.73

This week's meeting material includes more information on the Rotary Foundation - this Rotary Foundation month there is also an address on Permaculture which is very interesting

We had a great club charter lunch on Saturday 19 November 2016 at the Cranbourne Botanical Gardens.  A good number of members, district people and friends were in attendance. Webmaster Brian has placed 17 minutes of the video of the occasion on YouTube. For the link see below.

Enjoy the meeting and have a good week.

This week's meeting material
  • Charter Lunch Video - a 17 minute extract of this important club event held on 19 November at Cranbourne. Please let me know if you can't open it.
  • Rotary Foundation named World's Outstanding Foundation for 2016
  • The Power of Permaculture: An Enthusiastic Introduction - In this video, UMASS student Ryan Harb tells the TEDx audience in Utica, New York State, about the permaculture project he initiated back in 2010 which resulted in the first public university permaculture garden in the United States. During the talk he gives a very succinct definition of permaculture and how it can practically apply to “all people, not just those of us who are privileged”. If you are new to the concept of permaculture or would like a clear and simple explanation of it, this could be a very effective video to watch.
