President's Message

Have you joined a Rotary Fellowship yet? If not go click here for more information.

The club changeover is approaching (8 July, 12.30pm, online) and we expect to have an annual report available for all members before the day.

Incoming President, Brian will soon be sending out suggested roles and positions for all members for the new Rotary year commencing on 1 July as well as a draft calendar and goals. I hope you will respond positively to his invitation to take up a responsibility within the club. It is pleasing to see the growing participation of members this year but if we are to become a really effective club we need even more input from members.

Regards,

Deanne S.

President 2017-18

This week's meeting material

What about the Computer User's Fellowship?

Do you really know why you do what you do?  - Experimental psychologist Petter Johansson researches choice blindness -- a phenomenon where we convince ourselves that we're getting what we want, even when we're not. In an eye-opening talk, he shares experiments (designed in collaboration with magicians!) that aim to answer the question: Why do we do what we do? The findings have big implications for the nature of self-knowledge and how we react in the face of manipulation. You may not know yourself as well as you think you do.
