Summer Testawich is a multi-talented, mature, 13-year old who was selected to play the role of young Aline in the 2022 film Bones of Crows and that was a life-changing event for her. Since then, she has travelled across Canada with the film for speaking engagements, appeared in several films and is now the Youth Ambassador for Soaring Circle.
Summer uses her Janome sewing machine to further develop her interests in creating and designing traditional projects such a tote bags and ribbons pants. She recently won a competition sponsored by Woven with a cleverly designed blanket that included many indigenous symbols. Her many interests include piano, volleyball, softball and horseback riding.
Summer stated that she would like to continue her career in film-making in the future, but she is also interested in marine biology or zoology. She has a positive attitude about the future and believes that you can change your own story. At a young age, Summer has learned and understands the importance of the interconnectedness of all peoples. This amazing girl is a wonderful role model with a very bright future.
