230 volunteers at the Richmond Food Bank provide healthy food weekly to more than 2,200 Richmond residents.
On Saturday, December 10th 2022, Stittsville Rotarians presented a cheque to Michelle McIver, a board member and secretary of the Richmond Food Bank. Michelle expressed appreciation for the Rotary donation and for the generosity of the Richmond community in supporting the efforts of the food bank volunteers in meeting basic needs in the community. The cost of food items has almost doubled compared to last year at this time, so any assistance is welcome.
According to Michelle, early spring is another time when donations would be welcome as the demand for assistance usually goes up at that time. The Richmond Food Bank is a registered charity with a volunteer Board of Directors.  It relies on residents and businesses in the community to donate food, money and time to help neighbors in need.
