A great opportunity to promote literacy, help children develop their facility with the English language and boost confidence in the learner.

A Stittsville Rotary community service project that focuses on literacy will be completed on Friday November 25, 2002 with the presentation of Dictionaries4Life to Grade 3 students at St. Rose of Lima School. The club annually donates these illustrated dictionaries to primary school students to help them develop their facility with the English language and also boost confidence in the learner. The use of bright colors and many illustrations make the books easy to use and very attractive to children.
The Rotary Club of West Ottawa is the lead for Dictionaries4Life, a community service project for Grade 3 students that has been in operation for many years.  It is a basic education-focused project that is supported by a Rotary District grant as it fits in with one of Rotary‚Äôs 7 areas of focus world-wide: basic education and literacy. Many Rotary clubs in District 7040 participate in this literacy project and the Stittsville Rotary club is proud to be one of them.  www.stittsvillerotary.com
