Community service brings rewards to grads who have volunteered to help others.
Katelyn Martin, a 2022 graduate, was a big winner at the South Carleton High School June ceremony. Two Rotarians, Carolyn Clark and Dave Rooke, made a presentation of $500 to the lucky recipient who has demonstrated a commitment to volunteerism and community service.
A similar presentation was also made at graduation ceremonies at Sacred Heart High School, Ecole Secondaire Catholique Paul-Desmarais and Frederick Banting Alternate High School.
Stittsville Rotary has requested that each school give preference to candidates for the bursary who:
  • Demonstrate citizenship and leadership qualities
  • Exhibit an enthusiasm to succeed through life-long learning
  • Have demonstrated community involvement in youth / elderly support
  • Have not received another bursary, scholarship or other financial award
The recipient should be willing to visit the Rotary Club of Ottawa-Stittsville to participate in a short acknowledgement ceremony.
Congratulations to all graduates and best wishes for a happy and productive future!
