Motivation, encouragement and support makes the difference for these students.
Students in Grades 1 to 6 at the Kitiganik Elementary /Junior High School in Rapid Lake, QC celebrated with Principal Shirley Whiteduck, their teachers and parents in a day full of activities. First, they opened their Shoeboxes full of age-appropriate school supplies and personal items. A concert by rapper Hyper-T followed, along with a showing of the Grizzlies movie. The day concluded with a BBQ and a dance for the community making the whole day a very successful event! I Love First Peoples provided direction and support for this program with its emphasis on the youth and the importance of attendance and achievement at the school. The Rotary Club of Ottawa-Stittsville provided financial support and two club members participated in the day’s activities.
