Better We Better World is a humanitarian organization for the advancement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals under the Dalai Lama.

Josée Lusignan, founder of I Love First Peoples, has spoken to our club previously because Rotary Club of Ottawa-Stittsville has partnered with I Love First Peoples on several occasions to support financially and in person, the celebration of student achievement at Rapid Lake First Nation. At the Rotary meeting on May 27th, she thanked the club for delivering Friendship boxes in April 2020 to local social service organizations in support of needy children during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Josée stated that this is a pivotal time of change in the world overall, for First Nation peoples in general and for I Love First Peoples. Josee’s world has expanded dramatically too as she is now a founding member of a new organization, called Better We, Better World. It is dedicated to the advancement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals under the Dalai Lama through humanitarian work around the world. Josée is on that Board with the particular portfolio of advancing the cause in Canada. I Love First Peoples is folded into the larger organization and will continue to carry out projects as before.
From Josée’s perspective, this is a huge opportunity for her to share the stories of 90 remote aboriginal communities in Canada with others around the world. Her role will be one of raising awareness, advocating and networking with others to promote reconciliation. She reassured club members that the Rotary club’s support of future projects with I Love First Peoples would be welcome as remote communities continue to need support.
