Our guest today was Owen Brady, Area Coordinator of the Heart & Stroke Foundation, speaking to us about the Big Bike fundraiser.
Owen gave detailed information about our Club's participation in the Big Bike fundraiser event in Stittsville on August 15th. The 29-member team (Rotarians, famly and friends) plus driver (provided) will meet at 6:00pm at Brown’s for a warm-up and photos for social media PR before biking at 6:30pm through the town on a route of 1.5 miles. Each participant is expected to raise $50 – donors may donate online (www.heartandstrokebigbike.ca) to the team or to a team member and receive a tax receipt. The funds donated will go to projects such as grants for research at the Ottawa Heart Institute.
