           Over 900 volunteers work together to help give 1600 patients access to FREE dental work-- fillings, cleanings, root canals, extractions, and pediatric services.

Over 900 volunteers worked together to help give 1600 patients access to FREE dental work-- fillings, cleanings, root canals, extractions, and pediatric services from June 5th- June 7th 2019. These volunteers included dentists, nurses, assistants, IT professionals, translators, sterilization technicians and everyday people.  

 

MOM-n-PA started in 2013 in Philadelphia where the dedicated men and women donated $850,000 worth of dental services to 1820 patients over two days. To be followed by Allentown where they served 2,047 patients and donated $1,004,179 and Harrisburg donating $875,905  and Pittsburgh with $841,959 dontating in dental services.( the final tally for donated dental services in Wilks-Barre is still being added up and will be updated at a later date)  In Wilks-Barre the mission saw their 10,000th patient on June 7th 2019!  Starting in 2013 and subsequently each year after we donate close to if not more than ONE MILLION DOLLARS in donated dental services to the communities that welcome us into their communities. And get to work with close to if not 1000 selfless volunteers that are as important as the mission itself. These volunteers travel from all over Pennsylvania and pay for their own hotel rooms, and food and gas to get where the mission is set up to be able to help as many people as possible. 

 

The Shippensburg Rotary Club has a few familiar faces at the mission--Rotarian Bill Morgan is a translator, Marie Davis and Phyllis Nye run the data entry department, Elizabeth Davis runs the Sterilization Department and Gary Davis is the General Chair of the mission. Since 2013 not only have five Rotarians have become part of the three day mobile clinic but the Shippensburg Rotary Club has put time in making bags for patients.
