President's Notes
Dear Members,

At last nights meeting we did something we don’t do often, our speaker was our club member Angelo. We use to call this member behind the badge. Maybe we should do more of this as many of us have changed our lives since we first joined the club and spoke about who we are and how we got there.

Angelo,s story was very interesting. I liked his reasons for going into the banking business. I also found his comments about not being able to read or write made his work in banking much more interesting, one assumes Angelo was able to count.

At last nights meeting I suggested that we could incorporate the board meeting into our general meeting, not quite sure how would work but the response from the members present was positive. So our next board meeting will be conducted between 6.45 & 7.15 pm

We had our first board meeting for this Rotary year, it worked out well and we confirmed that the next board meeting would be incorporated into our normal meeting. ( how many of our meeting are normal )

Bryan confirmed his plan for our Vocational special meeting on 14th October, there will be more info supplied over the next few weeks. I would hope we can all promote this event. It’s not about fund raising its more about raising our profile in our community.

This coming Thursday I will be attending the first of our cluster meetings at which I will be promoting the teachers award function and the January cluster BBQ.

Have a safe week see you again soon

Ray

ACRC Changeover Dinner
On June 14th we had our changeover dinner that saw the new team for 2019 - 2020 installed.  Our District Governor Bronwyn Stephens was also there to support our club as well as visitors from other local clubs.   The Master of Ceremonies Charlie Hommelhoff made sure a good time was had by all.
Fundraising Highlights for our Rotary Year

Charlie Montebello (the sausage sizzle king) has excelled in putting together a Fundraising Events list for our club over the next 12 months.  As always, I know we will all help Charlie and Rotary make a difference to the community we serve through fundraising activities.

From low gear leaving Docklands at 5 knots, the Port Phillip Bay crossing at an effortless 32 knots (into a howling headwind) was exhilarating for those who wanted some sea air... Melbourne is just visible in the distance.

 Did You Know........
The RYLA program began in Australia in 1959, when young people throughout the state of Queensland were selected to meet with Princess Alexandra, the young cousin of Queen Elizabeth II.
The Rotarians of Brisbane, who hosted the participants, were impressed with the quality of the young leaders.
It was decided to bring youth leaders together each year for a week of social, cultural and educational activities.
The RYLA program gradually grew throughout all the Rotary districts of Australia and New Zealand.
In 1971, the RI Board of Directors adopted RYLA as an official program of Rotary International.

Here is some information about our District RYLA program
