This week, we heard from Allan Dumbleton, author of “Do what you Love” who shared his poetry and his story. He has donated copies of his book to the Club to be sold to raise funds to help the homeless. Thanks to Mandy for her work on this - selling at the market in Altona.
Once again, it was great to have Hudson Douglas join us.
I represented Altona City at the Charter of the new Rotary Club at Wyndham Harbour on Saturday night and attended the Shine On awards acknowledging the abilities of people with disability.
There are a number of dates for your calendars…

Guest Speaker Alan Dumbleton – author of his book “Do what you want”
Alan gave a heartfelt talk on his long fight with Hepatitis C which dogged his health for almost 17 years. He spoke of his book “Do what you want” and how that mantra helped him through the dark times of his disease. He also read out a few poetry passages from that book that helped him to beat his disease and give him strength. It was a very inspirational story to hear firsthand.
My Brother George has Dementia on Sunday the 5th May Kay and I will be taking part in the Melbourne Memory WALK & JOG. We will be walking 5 km, any sponsorship will be appreciated.
As you can see from the list below, we currently do not have a Bulletin Editor, a Program Manager, or a Membership Team Leader. Please consider how you can best serve the Club this coming year.
