Altona City Rotary eBulletin: 10 Dec. 18
President's Notes
Hi Everyone,

Our speaker was John Campbell, member of RC of Wyndham who spoke of his trips to Cambodia with World of Difference and the improvements those trips have brought to the lives of the people – non-contaminated drinking water, access to education, a source of income, not to forget the joy of the children, receiving a toy. John was accompanied by his wife (and my good friend) PP Sue – who served as President, with me.

John is collecting milk bottle tops to process into prosthetic limbs via 3D printing technology – if we ask Barry nicely, I’m sure he will deliver these to John at DIK. Barry is collecting ring pulls from drink cans and will gladly receive these.

Early bird registrations for the Multi-District Conference on 15-17th Feb have been extended until the 8th of Dec – get in now and save!

Jan dropped off our RYLA participant to meet the bus on Sunday and I look forward to hearing about her experiences

We have a Bunnings Sausage Sizzle on Saturday 8th of December – confirm your availability with Charlie M if you haven’t already.

Barry H told us of the book launch of “A Patchwork of Memories” on Saturday at 2pm at the Louis Joel Centre – written by the secretary of the Historical Society with contributions by Barry and Bob Hawkins

Our Christmas break up will be on Monday 10th December - $35 for a 3 course meal. Partners are most welcome. Please confirm numbers with Charlie Montebello and pay Treasurer Maureen to minimise payments on the night.

We will return after the Christmas break on the 14th of Jan with a social night. We need to confirm numbers with Frank via email.

Yours in Rotary,

P Bronnie
Multi-District Conference-Update

Dear On To Conference Champion

Thanks again for your help with promoting out Multi District Conference.  There are over 1300 registered from across Victoria and around 500 from District 9800.

It's not too late for members to register and we will be offering the Early Bird discount until next Sunday. Payment from now on will need to be by credit card.

Attached is a list for all D9800 Clubs up current until Sunday morning.

I have attached details about the Rotary Showcase “What Rotary does?” which is a fantastic opportunity for your Club to share its favourite projects with other clubs.

I will be emailing all those registered for the conference next week with details of:

  • Final Program
  • Leadership and Foundation Breakfasts
  • Details of dietary requests on file requesting any update of details.
In mid-January I will update information on venue access, carparking, dress for the Gala Dinner etc but most of this information is available on the website
