We were privileged to have Kerry Kornhauser OAM brief us on the International Women's Day Breakfast, together with Rotary's Australian National Project on End Trachoma 2020.
  • The International Women's day breakfast is at the Palladium at Crown on Thursday 7 March 2019, starting 6.30am for 7.00am and finishing promptly at 9.00am. Includes an expert panel discussion on Diversity, Gender Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace. $900 Corporate table of 10; $790 Standard Table of 10; Single ticket $80.00. Free parking in the Multideck carpark. Kerry asked for help to promote the event.
  • End Trachoma 2020: Australia is the only 1st world country where Trachoma has not been eliminated. It is mainly in indigenous communities where eye infections occur in the 1st 10 years, and can lead to blindness. Aim is trying to change behaviour and habits- if we kept kids faces clean, Trachoma would disappear. Opportunities to raise funds include Stamp Collecting- Thanks to Loretta for volunteering to assist. Altona City Rotary needs to consider how we can best contribute to this worthy cause.
L-R: Kerry Kornhauser and Program Chairman PP Bob Rawson.
