Celine Hong and Susan Bridges are Educational Support Staff who work as a team and were nominated for a Team Award by the Principal and Business Manager for their passion and commitment in leading and managing the International Student Program at Williamstown High School during this unprecedented time in Victoria.
2020 has been a very challenging time in the International Student Program, with many students needing extra support. International students, many of whom reside in Melbourne without any parents, were particularly vulnerable during the pandemic. Celine and Sue offered emotional and practical advice to students, including how to keep themselves and their host families safe during COVID-19. They both went above and beyond to ensure each student's welfare was accommodated for while encouraging students to continue achieving success in their academics. Their outstanding work in communicating with and actively supporting classroom teachers has allowed many challenges facing our international students during this pandemic period to be overcome.
