The Rotary Club of Walkerton proudly presented a $1,000 donation to the South Grey Bruce Youth Literacy Council in support of its mission to strengthen literacy among youth in our region.

During a recent club meeting, Steven Morel, Executive Director of the Council, delivered a compelling presentation on the wide-reaching impact of youth literacy programs throughout Grey and Bruce Counties. He highlighted the council’s work in mentoring, tutoring, and supporting young people to develop essential reading and writing skills — key to their long-term academic and personal success.

“The Council’s work is truly aligned with Rotary’s values of education, community service, and empowering the next generation,” said Adam Hofmann, President of the Rotary Club of Walkerton. “We are proud to support this important cause and are committed to partnering with the Council in the future.”

The donation will help fund tutoring programs, resource materials, and outreach efforts to ensure that children and teens facing literacy challenges receive the support they need.
