Barnegat Bits                                     Vol 9 Iss 21

A week ago, I did not think I would need to send this message out, but things are changing rapidly.  So a few things for your attention:

Until further notice, all weekly meetings of Barnegat Rotary are cancelled.  Stay tuned.

We are in the process of rescheduling our Casino Night fundraiser.  Further updates will follow as we figure out when we can have it and how to make that happen.

In the meantime, as Rotarians there is much to do.

First, I encourage you all to support our local food pantries in Barnegat, Waretown, and Manahawkin.  With all of the news about empty shelves at the supermarkets, I am sure that families who rely the food pantries are suffering the most.

Second, with the postponement of our club’s largest annual fundraiser, I am asking that anyone who can donate money to our club foundation to please do so.  Please understand that there is no expectation here; this is just an ask for help IF and HOWEVER you can.  We want to continue the work that we have started, and we need funds available to do so.  Scholarships for Barnegat’s graduating seniors; Easter meals for families in need; AEDs for the police department... We do not want to stop our work just because our meetings are suspended.

Third, if you identify a need or a way to help, please put it out to the Club so we can all do whatever we can to chip in.  I know that for me personally I have this desire to help but I so often have little or no idea where to even start.

Fourth, if you personally need anything, please let someone in the Club know.  We are all Rotarians for a reason, and if we can help, I know that we will.  So if you are worried about being able to go shopping but need some things picked up from the store, reach out.  One of us will surely be able to go to the store for you and bring you your groceries back.

Lastly, please keep yourselves and your families safe.  No one really knows at this point how serious this is or could be.  For me, I am trying to take every possible precaution while still living my life.  Little things like getting enough rest, washing hands, and exercising due caution could be the difference for any of us.
We Want to Hear About You!
We are looking for club members to do a classification talk.
What is that you ask?
A classification talk is your chance to tell members about yourself and your business.  It shouldn't be a big chore because you should already know all the answers :) How you share information about your profession is up to you!  Relax and enjoy your opportunity to educate your fellow Rotarians about who you are and your vocation.
If you are interested in speaking, contact Abby ( to schedule a time in our calendar.
