Rotarians Make a Difference

As many of you know, I am new to the world of Facebook.  I have found that most of what we see posted changes nothing, and in fact it disappears just as quickly as it appears.  I have to say that editorializing the news is not actually news, and I long for the days that people refused to discuss religion and politics in public.

But then I have also run across some very profound ideas that have been shared.  The best stuff does not originate on social media. The best stuff is really just good writing that gets shared through social media.  This past week I ran across one such item that really hit a nerve with me:

“If you want to touch the past, touch a rock. If you want to touch the present, touch a flower. If you want to touch the future, touch a life.”

It is just so perfectly Rotarian.  We spend our time trying to touch just one life—touch one life and the world is made a better place.  That is why we give Christmas presents, Thanksgiving meals, college scholarships.  That is why individually, we have members who volunteer their time with Big Brothers Big Sisters and CASA.

Everyday you might have an opportunity to touch someone’s life, to make a change.  It might be a child.  It might be an elderly neighbor.  Or perhaps it is someone who needs a hand.  We all have the power to touch that life.  It could be as simple as a kind word or a smile or even just holding a door.

Or if you REALLY want to touch a life, invite them to a meeting so that they too can make a difference like we do everyday.

We Want to Hear About You!
We are looking for club members to do a classification talk.
What is that you ask?
A classification talk is your chance to tell members about yourself and your business.  It shouldn't be a big chore because you should already know all the answers :) How you share information about your profession is up to you!  Relax and enjoy your opportunity to educate your fellow Rotarians about who you are and your vocation.
If you are interested in speaking, contact Abby ( to schedule a time in our calendar.
