President's message:
It is strange to think that a year has passed since I was sworn in as the President of the Barnegat Rotary Club.  Like many before me, I came in with a thousand ideas, and no real concept of how to make them a reality.  I wanted our Club to accomplish so much; honestly, we did not get everything done that I wanted to do.

That sounds more ominous than it should, though.  The things we accomplished this year were amazing.  We did many great things:

-Our second annual Casino Night was a resounding success, raising much needed funds to allow us to continue to support and serve our community.
-Our first-ever Santa Run could very well become a signature event for our Club.
-We made our community safer by donating the funds needed to supply the Barnegat Police Department with a Narcan rose to every patrol officer.  (This was also made possible by our participation in our District Designated Funds Grant Program, the first year in last several that we were able to participate.) -We added 8 new members, a net gain of 7.  We are now over 30 members for the first time in my memory.
-We gave 5 scholarships this year, increasing our club commitment to $4000.
-We are strengthening our club’s connection to our town through partnerships with Barnegat Recreation, Barnegat Police, and Barnegat Schools.
-We had a hugely successful food drive from February through April.

(Notice that in all of the above I mentioned nothing of the Elf Program, Thanksgiving meals, Easter meals, etc.  All of those programs that mark another routine, banner year of Barnegat Rotary serving our community.)

So here I am about to embark on a second year as President of this Club.  I look forward to this opportunity.  As President Bill wrote in his Message last year, a second year as President gives a person the opportunity to “get it right”.  I have the opportunity at something of a do-over—-do what worked again and do more of it.

I still have a million ideas rattling around in my head. And I know that you all have those ideas too. Those ideas are good.  Correction: they are great!  They are the lifeblood of our Club.  They allow us to continue to connect within the Club, connect with our local community, and Connect The World.
Rotary Sponsors Interact Lip Sync Battle
Rotary club was proud to sponsor the Barnegat High School Interact's lip sync battle this past Wednesday! Abigail Kladivko, our president elect, had a fantastic time as one of the guest judges for the event. Our newest member, Suzie Block, was nice enough to prepare the prizes we provided for the winners. What a fun night of music and laughs!
We Want to Hear About You!
We are looking for club members to do a classification talk.
What is that you ask?
A classification talk is your chance to tell members about yourself and your business.  It shouldn't be a big chore because you should already know all the answers :) How you share information about your profession is up to you!  Relax and enjoy your opportunity to educate your fellow Rotarians about who you are and your vocation.
If you are interested in speaking, contact Abby ( to schedule a time in our calendar.
