Meeting at Central States Fair

Thank you Central States Fair and fellow Rotarian Ron Jeffries for hosting our Club meeting on August 22nd and updating us on What's Happening at the Fair: Carnival operations, Concerts, Extreme Bronc Riding Event and the many other exhibits and local organizations you partner with to give back to the community, such as Journey Museum (Inflatable Planetarium, Bison Box), Rapid City Public Library(MakerSpace), and Indigenous Peoples Exhibit.

Young Professionals

Thank you to Rushmore Rotary for co-hosting an evening of networking at Canyon Lake Activity Center with the Rapid City Young Professionals. Thank you to Bruce Nearhood for organizing and volunteers who participated.

Storybook Island Celebrated its Birthday

Storybook Island celebrated its 60th Birthday on August 17th. Rotary initially sponsored the park project after being approached by Merle Gunderson, Rapid City Park's Superintendent. Both Rotary Clubs (Rapid City and Rushmore) have a long-standing relationship with this place and members continue to serve on the Board of Directors and continue to support many of the activities that make the "magic happen". We recently finalized our $50,000 commitment to the Carousel House.

SDSMT Rotaract Club at Organizational Fair

Rushmore Rotary provided support for banners to the SDSMT Rotaract Club during their campus Organizational Fair. Meerab Joseph is the current club president (on the right).

Storybook Island Princess and Pirate Ball September 6, 2019. Once Upon a Festival September 7 and 8, 2019. Volunteers always needed. Contact Jackie at SBI at 342-6357.

Rotary Classification Talks

Are you ready? As our club grows, it is important that we get to know more about our Fellow Rotarians. President Gene Bilodeau will be calling on members to share their classification talks and has prepared some guidelines from other clubs. See download files for the full set of guidelines. The talks should be approximately 5-7 minutes and include information on your vocation, personal information (family, hobbies) and Rotary connections (what brought you to Rotary). GO ROTARY!
