International Committee -- School of St. Jude's Fundraiser

 

The Rapid City Mayor signed a proclamation making Thursday, October 24, 2019 World Polio Day in Rapid City.  The proclamation encourages all citizens to join Rotary International in the fight to end polio.  Rotarians have contributed $1.9 billion dollars and countless volunteer hours for this cause.  Approximately 2.5 billion children in 122 countries have received protection.  Pictured are Rotarians Willis Sutliff and Gene Bilodeau with Mayor Steve Allender.  

 

SD Mines Rotaract Club hosted a "Purple Penguin" party to raise money for the "End Polio Now" campaign. Several Rushmore Rotarians joined in the fun!

Several members have received their "official badges" after completion of the membership requirements as well as "Four Way Test" commemorative plaques.  Pictured are Amy Matson, Dave Dolan, Bob Weyrich and Scott Bader (newest member) .  Keep up the good work in membership recruitment.  

     

 

  

 

Kjelsie Hass visited our Club in October (pictured with Willis and Pat Sutliff).   She was a Rotary International Global Scholar recipient and studied in Ireland. Her thesis on Conflict Resolution was chosen as the best in her program that year (2016).  Most recently she has been working for Google in Ireland.  Great example of how Rotary Connects the World
