Christmas Social Invite

Hiway Cleanup a great day!

On Saturday, October 7, a group of lively Rotarians and friends joined together to clean our assigned section of Highway 16 from Sitting Bull Cave area to just prior to the turnoff for Rockerville.  We always have a great time and the volunteers are very much appreciated.  Participating this time were Ann Bolman, George Twitero, Carmen Hansen, her husband Gary Hansen, Janet Kahler, Weldon Freightner, Ivan Brown, Gene Bilodeau, Michael O'Connor, Pat Peel, Jean Cline, Maria Roes, Cindy Hansen, and her grandson, Kyle Klinnert.

What does the Football books sales support?

The Football committee is in charge of printing, selling, and payouts of Monday Night Football Books. We sell 1300 books at $25 each. Each book has a 1 in 100 chance of being a winner each week of $50 and could be a potential winner in the final drawings for $100, $200 or $300 dollars.
This fundraiser usually nets us approximately $20,000. This first check goes to Storybook Island for $5000. The remaining $15,000 (or so) funds other various projects, such as the Youth Advocacy program, Community Action projects supported by Tikes and Bikes fundraiser, International programs, International Youth Exchange, Children’s Home Golf Tournament Major Sponsorship, Children’s Home Winter Gala; and any projects or fundraisers we would like to get started. This fundraiser is the lifeblood of our Club. Thank you to everyone for selling these books!
The very faithful committee members working with Cindy Hansen are: Kent Musegades, Mark Schreiner, Mark Barry, Ron Jeffries, Cathy Quinlivan, Monni Karim, and Jon Johnson. Thank you to all!

Our Club has great speakers!

Yes, we have great speakers every week, whether it's a member of a community business or organization, or our own members' reports on Rotary Day-the first Tuesday of the month. Or perhaps it's a tiger roar! We recently met at the Central States Fair and were entertained by beautiful tigers! Thanks Ron Jeffries. (more photos available, ask Linda Peterson to email yours.)
