After dinner we headed to conference room downstairs for John Brent's presentation on Wheelchair Foundation Australia, which is run out of RC Gosford West. The Foundation provides containers of wheelchairs to people in the Pacific region. To date, over 3,500 wheelchairs valued at over $1.8 M have changed the lives of more than 10,000 people.

John showed a video and gave a very informative presentation on the history and work of the Wheelchair Foundation Australia. RC Goolwa Member Yvonne Hurrell and her late husband Brian have supported the Foundation for many years.

Vice- President's Report
Following the presentation by John, V-P Noeline informed members of results of recent fundraising activities such as the raffle and netball BBQ.
Our new Food Trailer was purchased by our Club in April 2024. A grant of $5,000 was awarded to our Club by the Community Bank – Fleurieu, Bendigo Bank to equip the trailer for purpose. The old BBQ trailer has been converted to serve the purpose of an Equipment Trailer and will be used for transporting supplies to events (see below).

Tamara will be representing RC Goolwa at the Fit-for-Purpose Workshop in Sydney. Members are asked to complete the survey for this and get to Noeline by Thursday. She will collate and send off our Club results.

2-Minute Spots
a)  Tamara McRobbie
i)-Tamara put forward the idea of informal catch up get-togethers (coffee or dinner). These would be Fellowship and brainstorming sessions. They would be fortnightly (the non-meeting week) and attendance would be voluntary. Tamara will put dates and venues on a calendar in Facebook.
ii)-Tamara would like to profile members and their Rotary journey on Facebook (why you joined, what you have learned, what you hope to achieve).

b) Janet Tapping
Janet, Bronnie, Kevin and Jan attended RYDA (Rotary Youth Driver Awareness) presentations last Friday. RYDA is a 2 day course held over two weeks, to support students of the age to achieve their learner’s motor vehicle licences”. The event was well attended by students from local schools. The feedback from students was very positive. Janet advised that this is well worth attending.

Fines, Happy and Sad $$$ and Raffle Draw
The raffle was drawn by Guest Speaker John Brent and Bronnie's number came up but she drew the white ball. The prize will jackpot.

Vice-President Noeline thanked everyone for attending and John for his informative  presentation.

Meeting closed 8.30pm
