Sergeant Ron called on Wendy to give the invocation and loyal toast.
He then called on President Di Keach who welcomed Rotarians including a special welcome to Glenys, Noeline's sister who is visiting from Hastings, NZ.
President Di's Messages
Thank you to both Roger Shelden for taking over the role of Treasurer & Wendy Lippett for taking over the role of Director Youth to assist Michelle and Nanette in such difficult times.
Thank you also to Karen Mitchell who attended the Victor Harbor Junior School Art Show to assist.
In response to email from District 9520 for assistance to farmers affected by drought. This was taken to the board and was agreed upon to donate $1,000.00
The Bonfire has been set to occur on Friday 5th October from 5 pm. This is to be a social event so please bring along family & friends. BYO chairs, meat, drinks & eating utensils. Please bring salads & sweets to share.
Seavewe Cheese Visit - Monday 15th October to arrive at 3.30 pm. Car pooling to be organised. There will be a cheese platter & Di will organise dips etc. (for those who might not like sheep cheese) BYO drinks. Please forward any suggestions for where to go for dinner afterwards.
Polio Week – October. Ideas for a fund raising activity.
Mental Health Week - October. Ideas for our club to make a contribution.
Youth Clearance Training day on 21st October at Flinders University. Is anyone interested in attending?
Kayak Trip - Two Rotarians will be kayaking down the Murray, to raise money for Rotarians Action Against Slavery. They are expected to reach Goolwa on 14th November. Rotary clubs along the way have been asked to participate.
The Open Garden is scheduled for 3rd November & plans are well in hand.

Greg Casson - RYDA (Rotary Youth Driver Awareness) This program is being run over 2 days - 14th & 21st September. Looking for two volunteers for the 21st. Thank you to Alan, Helen & Noeline who will all attend.
Noeline Biermann - The Alexandrina Council are about to begin their next Tech Savvy for Seniors programme.
Greg Casson introduced two of our club's newer members, Sandy Finch & Wendy Lippett who both spoke briefly of their personal, career & Rotary backgrounds.
A raffle draw resulted in Karen Mitchell drawing out the yellow ball & taking home the jackpot..... !
Heads & Tails won the prize for Brian Buscombe.
