PRESIDENT NOELINE welcomed everyone present.
- Request for Marshalls for The organisation Wild Women on Top running Coast Trek from Victor Harbor to Goolwa.
Friday 20th September raising Money for Beyond Blue – A great cause.
We have been asked for 7 Marshalls at The Strand Port Elliot from 10am to 12.30pm
We are working with Lions Club of Goolwa. Please help with this community event. $100 payment we might donate to Beyond Blue.
Call Alan Williams 0429 344 122 if you are a trained Marshall and willing to help.
- Public Image and rebranding. We attended a Web seminar. We need to re look at our T shirts to make them more focused on Rotary. Kevin to discuss with Eric from Imagemaker re options. Everyone seemed Ok to pay for new shirts.
- Holiday for Farmers affected by the drought. Still a work in progress.
- Homeless and Disadvantaged people in this area. Approval given at the last Board meeting to Fund this program. First shop for Whalers Peninsular planned for Tuesday 27th Aug. Open Door Uniting Church on Wed 28th. Discussions with Goolwa Christian Community Church on Wed 28th.
- We need more interesting speakers for our meetings. Please come up with some and let Sec Wendy and Club service Director Andy Wood know.
- Walk for Mental Health 13th Oct Adelaide Hills
- Strathalbyn Duck Race. 10th November. If we don’t enter A duck, I might get Dunked. THAT IS NOT A CHALLENGE!!
- Whalers Peninsular Drive for the homeless is planned for 7 – 14 March 2020 Goolwa to Mt Gambier and return. I have details.
KAREN MITCHELL - Membership:
1. I have reached out to Lakeside Retirement community with an offer to host an afternoon tea in their common room to provide information about Rotary and hopefully some of the residents will be interested in joining. I will ask for help with catering and Rotarians to attend if this goes ahead.
We are currently speaking to two residents of Goolwa with a view to Rotary Membership.
We are delighted to announce the following businesses will be joining us as Corporate Partners.
2. Satish Kancherla of Goolwa Caltex, Saltwater Café and the Corio Hotel has agreed to become a Corporate Partner with our Club. With approval of the Board, I would like to have a social event at the Corio on curry night with Satish offering us some hints and tips on making a great curry. If this has approval I will be looking for expressions of interest in attending the event, during which we will present Satish with his formal plaque.
3. Leanne and David Reynolds of Goolwa Foodland have become Corporate Partners and we will do the formal presentation of their plaque in October after they return from holidays. It will be great to have them to a meeting to present them with their plaques.
4. John and Liz Francis Or Artworx have also become Corporate Partners. They are away at present but when they return we will have a social event with Rotarians and partners at ArtWorx one evening and gain knowledge about how to choose good art and also get to know John and Liz a bit better.
5. I would like to encourage all Rotarians to let me know of anyone they think might be interested and I will follow them up.
YVONNE HURRELL - From a private sale of a china cabinet & from donations from friends & visitors to Yvonne's home, Yvonne has collected over $300 which is enough to purchase 2 wheelchairs !!

The District 9520 Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Committee and the Rotary Club of Campbelltown invite you to attend a special event, the Graduation for the 2019 Rotary Youth Leadership Awards .
This will be the last Graduation for District 9520, and will be a celebration of the Awardees of 2019, but also the past 34 years of Awardees.
As such, we ask that as a club, you might take the opportunity to re-engage with past RYLA awardees, leaders, former district committee members and host parents, to celebrate the difference that RYLA has made in our district, our clubs, and in ourselves.
You would also be welcome to join with us in changing the Rotary Club of Goolwa's meeting night.
It is going to be a great evening, with the stars being the RYLArians themselves.

DI KEACH - Environment:
Last year 20 plants (which I won in a Council garden competition) were added to our plantation at Bristow-Smith Reserve, some replacing several that had died. We lost 8 in the extreme heat of last summer, so last week I acquired replacements from the Alexandrina Nursery and planted them. Thank you to Wendy and Karen, who have shared the task of watering over the warmer months.
A new bag stand has been made for use at the markets and to take when we present our display at schools and other venues. Thank you to Alan Williams for his assistance in making the base.
Thank you also to Averil and Wendy for making more bags which are in great demand. The stand will be taken to next Sunday’s market.
IPDG Kim Harvey will be visiting the club for our meeting on MONDAY, 23rd SEPTEMBER for the purpose of presenting the club with two awards.
One is the “Best displayed project at the conference trophy” and the other is the Ivor Lewis Trophy for publicity and public image.
It would be good if we could have a really good attendance that night.

Please find interesting Speakers and let Andy or Wendy know or enter in to Club Runner. You are ALL able to have access to this wonderful database.
Wendy will distribute a Meeting Program to everyone for your convenience when arranging a speaker. Please advise Wendy ASAP when a speaker is secured to keep the Meeting Program up to date and avoid any double ups.
We will be developing a roster for members to participate in which will include – Rotary information about the projects we support, personal or work stories by members. We are a diverse interesting bunch of people and have much to share.
