Open Garden - We've had very good feedback from people who attended and also from Kim Harvey (who included photos in The Herald!) It was very good to have the Shelterbox there on display, thanks to the effort of Kevin. Thank you to the committee - Alan, Karen, Wendy, Sandy, Tony & Janet for attending meetings and organisation. Special thanks to Karen for taking on the catering, risk management and rostering. To Alan for being in charge of plant sales, contributing so many plants, erection of roadside fencing etc. collecting panels from the farm, and radio interview. To Kevin for collecting and returning art panels and collecting the Shelterbox. To Brian for handling the collection and sales of wine. To Ron & Jim for the BBQ, cool drinks, setting up marquees etc. To Roger for finance including Eftpos. To Janet for managing art and mosaics. To Noeline for printing and laminating signs, etc. To everyone for contributions of plants, food and help in making it all happen, including clean up. Also to Michael Scott for providing trailer, gates etc. for roadside fencing.
Kayak trip down the river - Who is available on Wednesday 14th to welcome the two Rotarians when they reach Goolwa. (Please see Noeline's messages below)
Scout Jamboree - We are still awaiting details.
Community lunches - We need someone for the first Wednesday of reach month.
AGM and club assembly - As per email sent, has been set for Tuesday 4th December 6:30 pm for 7:00 pm start at Alexandrina Cove Community Centre. Please BYO drinks. Dinner has been organised for a cost of $10 pp. Tea, coffee, sugar & milk also supplied. Everyone is to participate in the clean up so we leave the facility as found.
Christmas party 10th December at Goowa Hotel 6:30 pm for 7:00 pm start. Kris-Kringle $5. Someone to organise fun for the evening.

Russell Green (Regency Park Rotary) and Peter Sowden (Walkerville Rotary) traveling by Kayak from Renmark to Goolwa Mouth.
Alan Williams arranged access for them at the Scout Hall in North Goolwa for an overnight stay. Di & I supplied lunch and enough food for dinner and breakfast. Rotarians present were President Di Keach, VP Alan Williams & PE Noeline Biermann. The Time reporter met with us at 3pm and took group photographs and spoke to Russell and Peter about their fund raiser Rotarian Group against Slavery in NE India. RC Goolwa donated $250 for this cause.
A reminder to ALL members that the AGM is on Tuesday 4th December. I will send out emails asking members to advise their preferences and willingness to accept Board Positions for next Rotary year.
Kevin Hales - GOOLWA CHRISTMAS PAGEANT
CALL FOR ASSISTANCE for STREET MARSHALLS for the Goolwa traffic management during the street parade of the GOOLWA PAGEANT.
The requirement is across the period of 5 pm to 7 pm.
This covers the period of road closures prior to the parade and through until all floats are back to their drop off point at the completion of the parade.
Police Training will be provided in the days leading up to the Pageant, to provide us confidence should we be faced with a motorist who is trying to go into a ‘Closed Road’ area.
The only names I have are those from previous years. -I’m just assuming you are all still available to assist in this role.

We need clear indication re Sunday @ Goolwa Markets for Trailer Raffle - Please advise. This question will be discussed at the Club Dinner Meeting on Monday 26th November. (yes or no??)

REMINDER ADELAIDE ROTARY CLUB GOOLWA VISIT
It is important as a club we offer a warm welcome to the Rotary Club of Adelaide, let’s provide a good roll up to both or either social event.
FRIDAY EVENING (Nov 16th) Commencing 6.00 pm - Dinner and Lawn Bowls at Goolwa Bowling Club – plus local identity Alan Jones as Guest Speaker – “Bridge Over Troubled Waters”
With daylight saving it is a great way to spend a couple of hours on the green. If you don’t wish to play bowls that is fine, there will be more time to socialise with your good friends over a drink or two..
Cost $20 per person for dinner and bowls. Catering by our Rotary Club of Goolwa. Drinks can be purchased at the Bar.
SATURDAY EVENING (Nov 17th) 6.30pm for 7pm - 2 course Dinner at Fleurieu’s 92 Barrage Rd Goolwa.
Guest Speaker: Georgina Downer.
Georgina has previously worked as a Research Fellow at the Institute of Public Affairs and Principal at Tenjin Consulting. She has had extensive experience in foreign policy, as the Director of Asialink Diplomacy at the University of Melbourne and as a diplomat at the Australian Embassy in Tokyo, Japan. Her talk will be on: ‘Brexit, Trump, trade wars and the opportunities for South Australia’.
Cost: $35 per person. Drinks can be purchased at the bar. We would love to see you, friends & partners there.
Guest speaker - Georgina Downer spoke about her career & time spent in Japan as a Diplomat with Department of Foreign Affairs. This included many harrowing stories of the earthquake & tsunami which occurred in 2011 while she was there.
The raffle resulted in Wendy Lippett managing only to draw a white ball .... so the jackpot goes up ! Heads and tails was won by Andy Wood.
Di closed the meeting at 8.35 pm with the following quote from Lori Deschene .
