Open Garden – a huge success with guest attendance of over 630 and funds raised in excess of $5,000
The shed fossick occurred on Wednesday last week, 4th. Rotarians attending were able to look through and discuss the contents. Some very dusty old beers & water stored in there were discarded. Suggest to be very mindful of where and how any excess drinks are stored. There are two BBQs which are no longer required by our club, so would appreciate any thoughts on their sale; are there any local community groups who may need them? Any feedback please.
The Friends of the Currency Creek Cemetery have put out a call for help in tidying/raking at the cemetery. Their next working bee will be on Saturday morning 21st November, however, can also be organised at a time which may better suit.
Nomination Forms – It is that time of year when we have to consider our succession plan for officer & director roles for next year. Please consider your availability for any of these important roles, or nominate someone you think may be suitable (with their agreement). Forms available from Secretary Greg.

Please donate any towels in decent condition/or new, to be given to Whalers, who will distribute them to the homeless throughout the surrounding local areas. Please drop off at Noeline’s home (leave on verandah if she is not home)

Di Keach - Open Garden
Di thanked everyone involved, including the subcommittee and Karen for the Covid safe procedures.
There was a good flow of people all weekend and 2 bands, which kept people entertained.
Ron Hann - Christmas raffle
Jim Davis took a letter to many businesses in Goolwa and got wonderful response, resulting in a lot of donations for the Christmas raffle. Jim, with Andy's help, organised a Coreflute banner with the logos of all the donors. This is displayed nest to our raffle table in the shopping centre.
Kevin - Hay to Hawker
A road train with about 7,000 worth of hay bales was delivered to Hawker to be distributed to those who needed ot.
Kevin attended the Hawker Drought Muster, with sixty members from several other Rotary clubs.
The event was a great success, with nearly 350 people from the local area attending. Many prizes were donated by businesses in Adelaide. Entertainment was provided all day by several bands who donated their time.
The event included numerous food stalls, mental health support, livestock agents, animal nutrition specialist giving a tutorial on feed requirements for cattle, jumpy castle for the kids, all at no cost to attendees. Free haircuts for anyone who needed one.
Guest Speaker - Paul Shinkfield
Paul has resided on the Fleurieu Peninsula for 15 ½ years and is President of the Middleton Pioneer Hall Management committee. He is also involved with the Town & Foreshore Improvement group and the Fleurieu Community Foundation.
Paul gave us a brief history of the Middleton Pioneer Hall and Middleton pioneers. He also spoke about the Fleurieu Community Foundation and it’s work in our community.
