- 13th July 2024 - RC Goolwa hosting a ShelterBox demonstration day for new Area 5 clubs at Scout Hall, North Goolwa. We will do a hot lunch and assist with the tent. Peter Jarvis will be on hand to talk about ShelterBox. More details later.
- 27th July 2024. High Tea/Lunch at Chris Smith's house. A fundraising event for RC Goolwa.
- 05-11th April 2025 Australian Federation of Rotary Golfers golf tournament. Details to follow.
- 11th-13th April 2025 District Conference at Morphettville Racecourse. Details to follow.
Meeting 1615- 18th June 2024

Visitors: Chris Smith (RC Loxton, who will be joining RC Goolwa next month), Dr Robert Davis (RC Nanawading, friend of Chis Smith) and Mark Stait (bar).
Sergeant Bronnie opened the meeting and Sergeant's Helper David gave the invocation and Toast to Australia.
President's Report
President Jan welcomed all and announced birthdays and anniversaries. She then introduced Bob and Chris.
a) Jan notified all that Board meetings would be held at 4.30 pm on the third Monday of the month.
b) Rotary Australia Repurposing Equipment (RARE) - Donations in Kind (DIK). We will be receiving 12 wheelchairs and other mobility aids from Resthaven Port Elliott, and Chris Williams from Clayton, which we will deliver to Dave Cockshell at Edinburgh. Jan, David, Yvonne, Meredith, Noeline and Lyn will deliver.
c) ShelterBox demonstration on 13th July at Scout Hall.
2-Minute Spots
a) Noeline Biermann (V-P and Secretary)
Fathers' Day Raffle. We will not sell raffle tickets at the Mall on Saturday 22nd June (Bunnings BBQ) or Saturday 13th July (ShelterBox Demonstration). There are still some spots on the roster to be filled. Please give money and book stubs to NB (not the Treasurer on meeting night).
b) Sue Porter (Director Club Services)
Requested that all respond by Sunday afternoon if attending meeting the following Tuesday. The meals are ordered and paid for on the Monday morning.
Sue handed out a paper for members to volunteer to be on the salad roster for meetings.
c) Tony McWhinney (Director International)
i) RC Unley conduct 'Police Officer of the Year' yearly. Nominations are open (close 12th July). Tony is nominating Sergeant Darren Parker (our local Police Officer). Tony has also spoken to Lions members regarding nomination. We will nominated Darren as a Club (all members listed on nomination form).
ii) Last Wednesday was Tony's last meeting as Director of International. He was presented with a lovely card from International Committee members. He thanked all members of the Committee and was appreciative of all help he had been given by them.
(All members would like to thank Tony for his untiring service to the International Committee).
d) Bronnie Daws
i) Bronnie is organising the noticeboard roster and needs to know when people will be away for extended periods.
ii) International Committee fundraiser. Bronnie is organising a talk by a local physiotherapist on "Fall prevention, Balance and Exercise" at Thornbury Park on 1st August. Details to follow.
Happy and Sad $$$ and Fines were paid. The raffle was drawn by Bob Davis and Sue had the winning ticket. She drew the yellow ball and won $120.
President Jan then closed the meeting and encouraged all members to attend the ShelterBox presentation.

RC Goolwa Executive positions
A reminder to all that we still require a President Nominee and Secretary Assistant for the 2024/2025 year. See Jan or Noeline if you are interested to find out what these positions entail.
Donation to Whalers
Director Environment Meredith collected 10c deposit cands, and with the funds she raised bought rubber thongs for Whalers for their new shower units for the homeless. Meredith and President Jan presented Mary McInnes from
Whalers with the thongs.

Bunnings Sausage Sizzle
RC Goolwa hosted a very successful sausage sizzle at Bunnings Victor Harbor on Saturday 22nd June. Thanks to all members who helped on the day (particularly Lyn who were there the whole day).

Day Trip to Edinburgh
Jan, Lyn, Yvonne, David, Meredith and Noeline transported two trailer loads of donated wheelchairs and other medical equipment to the RARE-DIK warehouse in Edinburgh. They were given a tour of the facilities by the Chair of the RARE project, David Cockshell from RC Gawler Light.
