Meeting 1668 Tuesday 6th October
Meeting 1668 was another enjoyable evening of fellowship, with members enjoying Balinese pork on rice with stir fried vegetables followed by doughnut with mixed berries and ice cream. We also enjoyed the company of several guests.
Bronnie thanked the team for helping with the Foodland Sausage Fest. Money raised was $537.05. She also thanked Di for the lovely afternoon tea. She also advised that there had been a cancellation at Bunnings for Saturday 17th October and that Bunnings had asked if we wish to take the spot which we will do. Also Bunnings had been booked for June and August next year.
Tamara thanked Chris, Meredith and Theresa who are taking on the job of arranging our social catch ups. Our next one being on 15th October at the Heritage bakery.
Our guest speakers were Chris & Phill Smith who gave an emotional talk on how the community and Rotary had helped after the Port Lincoln bushfires in January 2005.
Sonia reluctantly informed us that she is moving and will no longer be a member of Rotary Goolwa but hopes to join Yankalilla Rotary. She hopes to return one day and once more be a member of Goolwa.
The evening concluded with the raffle. Chris Smith pulled out her own number, but she drew a white ball.
