Guest Speaker: Wheelchairs for Kids by Robin Noakes from RC Moe
Our last meeting was held at the Goolwa Bowls Club, we had a lovely dinner, Michael served us from behind the bar as John has had shoulder surgery.
Tamara had Sargent duties and opened the meeting. Vice President Noeline welcomed us all and our guests. Dinner came out early so the meeting was a bit all over the shop but we made it work.
Tamara, Malcolm, Sonia and Di all had two minute spots. Welfare officer Janet gave cards and chocolates to Malcolm.
Robin Noakes gave us a really informative and moving talk about Wheelchairs for kids. It was very interactive with him asking us about what we thought should go onto a chair, he showed us a chair and let us get up close. He also showed a very moving video about the Olly Pickett who won Australian Senior Citizen of the year in 2024 and who is the founder of Wheelchairs for kids. One of the take aways that I got was that they have 235 volunteers on their books who build wheelchairs! For more information, you can click here: https://wheelchairsforkids.org/

Tamara gave a fun little quiz about famous people in wheelchairs with chocolates as the prizes.
Sonia won the raffle and pulled out a white ball which wasn't bad as Shannon won last week so there really wasn't any money in the kitty!
Noeline closed the meeting.
