Thank you to Karen, Tony Lucas and Michael Scott who helped me with the car parking at the Front Yard Music Festival on Flagstaff Hill Rd. A gold coin per car and we made $275.
We have been asked to assist Encounter Bay Club with the wharf markets when they do not have enough of their own members to run them. We have said we may be able to do so do so if we have people available, bearing in mind that we are kept busy with our own projects. Financial return for this is still being considered, as E.B. Club is a generous sponsor of GAPE.
I will be seeking some funds that may be available for publicity on the advice of AG Bob Carmichael.
We plan to have a second bag stand to have at the market and other places as needed so the original can be left in place at the mall as agreed.
The defibrillator training has been postponed to a later date.

Christmas Festival Committee update:-
Resulting from a meeting with Lions members, moderated by Councillor John Carter the following proposal was put for the consideration of both clubs.
The meeting where the Lions members voted to wind up the committee be ignored because it was called in error, for the River Port of Goolwa Christmas Festival Committee, which was de-registered in 2003.
A new committee to be formed to take over the assets of the existing committee. This committee to establish a constitution, and be incorporated. The membership of the committee to include the provision for Church members,
Currently a meeting is being planned with Mark van der Pennen, General Manager at Council. This will take place within about three weeks, with 4 members from each club.
Roger Shelden -
As I will be away for the remainder of this year with my next meeting in July. The budget for the fees has been prepared on a conservative basis and we have enough funds to allow us to retain subs at the same level. It was approved by the board that the fees remain at $200 pa with the option to pay HY of $100 . The current year will finish with close to the same balances we started with around $7000, this was due to the donation received from Adelaide Rotary Club. If members require a copy of the budget email Roger.
As I will be absent, Julie Payne (Treasurer from Changeover) will take over from me therefore will handle all banking responsibilities whilst away. Thank you, Julie. Members to assist Julie please make sure you correctly provide correct paperwork, and which account any banking is to/from (eg Admin/General OR Project).

I would like to say a big thank you to President Di, Secretary Noeline and attending Rotarians for their help in making our 'Information and Thank You' night a big success. We believe we now have two Corporate Partners, another Friend of Rotary, a possible new Member and a candidate for RYLA. Many people had such a good time it was suggested we do it again in 6 months' time.
A social lunch for our Friends of Rotary is to be planned & will be held at President Di's place. Food, tea and coffee will be supplied. Rotarians are welcome to attend and are asked to bring a bottle of wine to share. The date for the lunch & more details are to follow.
We are now less than 2 weeks away from the Quiz Night (Saturday, May 18th at the GRYC - 7:30pm). A big thank you goes out to our Members who have generously donated items for the raffle/auction but we still need more. Please give these items to Wendy. Eight tables have been reserved so far with 2 remaining unallocated and we need anyone with friends or associates from other groups to make them up. If you are unable to do this, it is important that Rotarians make up these final tables of 8 so please call each other. This is an important fund raising activity and we need everyone involved to make it a big success. Please let me know if you need another copy of the Quiz Night flyer.

This year ShelterBox has launched the ShelterBox Champion Awards to formally acknowledge the amazing support that Rotary provides in supporting families that are left without shelter.
Natural and other disasters are inevitable and frequent, and the need is continuous. In 2018, with global Rotary support, ShelterBox provided shelter and life-saving items for 42,000 families robbed of their homes by disaster and conflict. That is 210,000 people helped on the road to rebuilding and recovery.
ShelterBox Champions are made up of an elite group of Rotary clubs that have identified the continuing need to prepare for and immediately respond to the worst day ever.
