World Rotaract Week

Every year, the second week of March is designated World Rotaract Week to honour the chartering of the first club in North Carolina on 13 March 1968.

Rotaract is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young men and women ages 18 to 30. Rotaract clubs are usually community-based or university-based and are sponsored by a local Rotary club, making them true "partners in service" and key members of the Rotary family.

Through the Rotaract program, young adults not only augment their knowledge and skills, but they also address the physical and social needs of their communities while promoting international understanding and peace through a framework of friendship and service.

There are 7,179 chartered Rotaract clubs around the world. Of those clubs, India has 1,713 clubs - more than any other country or geographical area. About 165,117 young people call themselves Rotaractors, or members of a Rotaract club.

22 March is World Water Day

Rotary clubs and districts worldwide will commemorate World Water Day on 22 March. Water is one of RI President Bill Boyd's emphases, and Rotarians are encouraged to honour World Water Day by initiating discussions or, better yet, water-related service projects.
