Rotarians "have great stories to tell---Toastmasters know how to tell them"!    Matt Villella and Brian Walmark gave a fine outline on how Toastmasters and Rotary complement each other for personal development, leadership skills and service - and there are a couple of special new offers to PA Rotary members.

President Jim Madder welcomed 33 members including Rotoracter Karissa and Uway TBay community member Jodi.  Co-hosts always welcoming were: Kevin Holloway and John Stephenson who had a unique rendition of O Canada by the Sultan of String Band.

Matt and Brian are members of the local Nanabijou club, meeting Tuesday evenings. Matt has many awards and much experience.  Toastmasters International is a non-profit educational organization formed in 1924; now with over 16,800 clubs in 143 countries. Rotary is similar, if larger scale.

Matt’s journey to leadership roles in Toastmasters showed there is more to TM than learning how to do public speaking:  Leadership development, setting common goals and running effective meetings are some of the extra skills taught.

On offer:  Joint TM / Rotary Meeting September 28th TM Meeting 7-9 pm. Please join this event! (contact Matt or Brian or www.toastmasters.org/Rotary)
Also:  10 week Speechcraft Course starts October 5th for just $30.  Let’s sign up!

Toastmasters leadership skills helped Brian significantly in his Rotary Radio Days role.

We began our meeting with a fun fellowship / Toastmasters exercise themed for Labour Day – what did you want to be when you grew up, what did you do in your first and last job.  There were some twists and some straight arrows!   It is always a delight to hear of our colleague's personal background.

President Jim Madder introduced and thanked Matt and Brian.
