President Jim Madder welcomed members today including those Zooming in from away:  Past President TBay Rotaract Club Karissa in Germany, Paul DeBakker in Scottsdale AZ and Warren Philp in warm, sunny Calgary.  The Vernal Equinox was yesterday – today it is snowing hard - and it's National Introverts Week in the US.

We heard Club Activity Updates from the St. Patrick's Day Coming Out Party, Joint ToastMasters SpeechCraft Course, Allocations, Dew Drop Inn Service and Dew Drop Inn Painting Project, Board Nominations, Catch the Ace, Waterfront Trail, Catch the Ace and Rotaract projects.

 

Club Allocations:    Chair Judi Turner reviewed the analysis using Kevin Holloway's tools,  The Board received recommendations from Allocations and approved distributions to: Easter Seals Ontario, Wake the Giant, Eco-Superior and Confederation College (with matching funding). The residual amount was to Rotary International Disaster Response Fund for use in the Ukraine, and will be matched.

Board Nominations:     Past President Krystal Logozzo Daniele is distributing a survey to members asking for up to 10 nominations for board members to replace 3 outgoing members. The term is 2 years. 

Dew Drop Inn Service Thursday March 24: Judi Turner seeks afternoon helpers.

Painting Project at Dew Drop Inn: The unflappable Bob Tomlinson organized a great hands-on project that is already underway: prep work.  See the pic os stalwarts on Day 1 still standing and masked. Everyone encouraged to join in!

St. Patrick's Day Coming Out Party. This was a big success! Thanks go to many:  Kevin Holloway, music director and lead guitar and vocals, Bill Ulakovic on guitar, Jamie Philp, keyboards and the Rotary Philharmonic chorus. Rita Komendant on the desk, Treasurer Chris Bailey, Mary-Anne Mackett contest invigilator, and many others helped. Matt Villella shot a great video shown at today's meeting. Shelley Crawford was a fantastic over-all lead. She promises future fun in the future - all Covid safe.

Waterfront Trail Community Action Team: Warren Philp thanked the Board for endorsing the City's Tourism and Economic Feasibility study.

TBay Rotaract Club: Karissa outlined several active projects:  feminine hygiene products for local women, a successful Ukrainian Crisis fundraiser at Shooters Bar, an upcoming Lovely Ladies Social and ongoing collaboration with our club: Paige Perrons.

SpeechCraft Course with ToastMasters:  Matt Villella, invites all to the upcoming SpeechCraft course abd a Rotary Easter event. There is a new social media plan for the Club developed by his students.  Our next speaker from Texas is a great ToastMaster.

Brenda Winters was highly successful garnering Happy Dollars from Matt, Shelley, Kevin, Bob T, Albert, Jim, Jaro and Krysta.
