  President's Report 
 
The end of the year and the holiday season is fast approaching and with it the last few events for Springwood Rotary.
 
This coming Monday is the Christmas Party kindly and ably hosted by the Ericsons (click on the link in the right hand column for those attending for further details - BYO beverages). This is also the last 'Meeting' for this year and the next one is not until January 16th of 2023.
 
As you can see in the article directly below an outstanding job has been done selling the Christmas Raffle tickets by all those who volunteered. It is hoped this will be enough for two defibulators to be purchased along with appropriate signage to highlight their locations.
 
The Gingerbread House Sales have concluded and it was not as much as hoped being only 57 sold (see article below.)
 
The last two BBQs will be the Thursday Late Night Shopping (with a visit by Santa and one of his elves) along with the Bunnings BBQ where the Raffle winners will be drawn. These are both Fundraisers so lets hope we can end the year on a solid note by good sales at both. (see below)

Raffle progress - Final Report

Well folks, we have finished our scheduled selling as there are only 13 tickets left + one member’s book to be returned. The progressive total is $5383.15 with about $100 still to come.
 
Thanks heaps to this week’s sellers: Warwick Harrison, Peter Sparkes, Norm Kitto, Cheryl Kitto and Valda Bray.
 
So, no more roster required – thanks to all those who had volunteered ahead.
Thank you to everyone who has helped in so many ways over the past six weeks (yes, it only took us 6 weeks to virtually sell out!) 
 
President Norm advises that this should be enough for two defibrillators, so I think we can say this has been a pretty successful fundraiser!
 
The raffle will be drawn at Bunnings on 17 Dec at midday, and all winners will be notified by phone.
 

The Second Flood Food Shipment Shipment 

Springwood Rotary Club President Norm Kitto makes an early morning delivery to AG Paul of non perishables collected from the Community of Springwood…. Thank You Springwood 😎
 
These donations will join Thursdays 2nd Rotary Convoy heading West to Orange  then on to Eugowra to provide much need toiletries- house hold cleaning products and tools for the heavy cleaning of the mud & debris left by the flood waters .

Bunnings BBQ - SAT 17th DEC - Call for Volunteers

I have had a great response for volunteers for the Late Night Shopping - apparently a very popular event. BUT we also have our last event before Christmas, our last monthly Bunnings BBQ on SAT 17th December. It will be the usual format with the exception that President Norm will oversee the drawing of our Christmas Raffle at 12pm.
 
Would you please reply via email to let me know if you can participate. Also advise any restrictions you may have to allow you to participate, which shifts you would prefer i.e. 1st shift 08.30-11.00, 2nd shift 11.00-1.30, or 3rd 1.30-4pm, and any preference as to what duty you would like. I will do my best to satisfy your preferences.
 
Some of you have already advised me of your ability to participate ie Geffrey (cashier first shift). Roza, Jenny K (cashier 2nd shift) and Sheryn (unable to do 1st shift). Please advise me if these requirements have changed.

Late Night Shopping BBQ Roster for Thursday Dec. 15th

 
Below is the roster and plan for the Late Night Shopping BBQ. Please note carefully your requested participation based on your earlier email where you noted your particular requirements and let me know ASAP if you cannot meet the roster as promulgated.
 
Look forward to seeing you there, it should be a fun night albeit we are working.

4.15pm     Set up – Bill, Bruce, Adam, Frank and Deborah               (alongside Priceline Pharmacy)
Set up consists of unloading ute, setting up marquee in town square for the MC, set up portable BBQ, tables and chairs, cashiers and two chafing trays (have one up and going as soon as possible).
4.30 – 8pm (approx.)

                             ALL TO ASSIST IN CLEAN UP
 
Counting of monies Jenny and Norm to carry out reconciliation and report results to Bruce and Bill.
 
THE PLAN
We will get the BBQ going as soon as possible and have one chafing dish full of cooked sausages, onions and hot dogs initially.
 
As the demand grows and more servers arrive we will begin serving from the second chafing dish.
 
While the roster has people assigned to various duties, I will vary those duties as the need arises for relief purposes throughout the night. If anyone sees a problem or a log jam in our process which I haven’t noticed – PLEASE let me know ASAP.
 
Above all, be flexible and have a great time.
 

Gingerbread House Kits UPDATE

Thank you for your support of this fundraiser. The order is in, sadly only 57 this year of which 11 came from outside the Club.
 
Your kits will be available to collect from Deana Atkins at 14 Bee Farm Rd Springwood on Saturday 10th December between 8.00am & 4.00pm (the earlier the better). If this does not suit you pleas call Deana on 0416 270 948 to make suitable arrangements.
 
Those who have purchased kits for donating to Winmalee Neighbourhood Centre (there was 8), these will be collected by Bronwyn for inclusion in the Gluten Free Hampers she is making up.
