President's Report
Although last meeting was another low in numbers it was high in fun and fellowship. Thanks to Adel for giving an impromptu report on her weeks activities.
Unfortunately too many of our members – Bill C, Paul, Margaret, Geoff and new to the list Warwick and Kelvin - are on the mend list and we extend our best wishes for a speedy recovery and their return to meetings.
It was great to welcome Nicki and Jan who wanted to come and have a look at our Club with the possibility of joining. We hope you enjoyed your visit and we hope to see them again soon.
Four of our members enjoyed a great evening at The Blue Mountains Police Officer of the Year event on Wednesday night in a cold Katoomba (with still a few patches of snow around). Wonderful to hear some of the outstanding work done by our Boys & Girls in Blue.
Again, thanks to the members who keep stepping up time after time to work on our many BBQ functions. Unfortunately due to the very cold weather our Bunnings wasn’t a huge success but we managed to satisfy the hunger of many satisfied customers.
Thanks to all who responded to Cheryl’s email for assistance for visiting Rotarians from England with ideas and offers. This could be the beginning of a “friendship programme”?
This Monday, our Vocational visit to Ben’s Cafe at Lawson, is set to be a rewarding and informative night with a good roll up of members and friends.

Thank you from Interplast for the Teddies
Dear Jenny,

I write to thank you and the Rotarians of the Rotary Club of Springwood for the donation of Teddies we received recently.

The bears are all delightful, and beautifully made. They will bring smiles to the faces of our littlest patients, as they face the daunting prospect of reconstructive surgery.

For the first time since February 2020, when the pandemic halted travel across the world, Interplast is preparing to mobilise surgical teams to partner countries in the Pacific. Our volunteers will be travelling to Fiji and Solomon Islands in November, to try to address some of the back log of surgery which has built up over the past two and a half years.

The Teddies that we send on these trips will make a great difference to the child patients, and their families, as the Teddies help to calm fears and reduce stress.
Since leading the formation of Interplast in 1983, Rotary Clubs, Districts, individual Rotarians, and friends of Rotary have continued to be amongst our greatest supporters. Thanks to the caring commitment of you and the Rotary Club of Springwood, Interplast will again be in a position to provide not only desperately needed surgical care, but support for our tiny patients.
Should you have any questions regarding your donation or our work, please don't hesitate to contact our Rotarian Engagement Coordinator,
Janette E
