  President's Report

The Twighlight Markets was a resounding success thanks to the effort put in by all the volunteers and orgasnisers. (See below)

The same can be said for the sales of the Raffle tickets when only 2 weeks in we are almost a third of the way to our goal. Thanks yet again the Jenny for the organization and the volunteers who have manned the sales points (see below)

Please note that we have received an invitation to attend an Open House of the new premises of Blaxland Tiles and Bathrooms from Lower Mountains Rotary Club. RSVP needs to be done by this coming Wednesday so if you are interested contact Bronwyn ASAP. (see below)

Please remember to contact Lynda S. as to your attendance at this Mondays meeting depending on you list (click on any Rotary Club Meeting link in the righthand column to see which list you are on...)

We had a very interesting talk last meeting by Jenny Kroonstuiver on her growing up in rural Australia (many places too) along with her working life which also centered around rural Australia. The pictures, rememberances , and the perspectives shared with us were humerous, moving and inspiring. Best of luck on the sales of your current  books and the future ones you intend to write. Thank you.

Next weekend will be a busy one for the volunteers as we have:
  • Bunnings BBQ - 19th of November
  • The Spectacles at Norman Lindsay Gallery Parking Duty - also the 19th of November
  • Carinya Daycare 40th Anniversary BBQ - Sunday the 20th of November
Please contact Bruce to see if there are still any volunteer needs on those days.

Also please remember the Gingerbread House Sales Effort for which the cut-off date is December 2nd. (see below)

Twighlight Market Thank You and Update

I am slowly recovering from the effects of last night's efforts at the Faulconbridge PS. The one thing that stood out for me was the way in which you all worked together as a team to achieve a remarkable result. I haven't ever been involved in anything like the rush and continuous activity that began at 5pm and ended at about 8.15 as the last of our wares was sold - that is, except for the vegan sausages. I guess that the limitations imposed by the pandemic over the last few years and the nice weather induced, what appeared to be, the entire population in our community to come out and enjoy the Market. Quite the success I imagine.

For our part in the Market, each of you in your own manner contributed in a huge way and worked together despite some difficulties which were confronted and overcome with the minimum of fuss. I thank you all for assisting in this event in, what I have come to know as, the Rotary spirit.

I do not have a result from a profit point of view but I can say that we produced 312 sausage sizzles, 54 hot dogs (would have been 60 if Coles hadn't messed up the order), 144 bacon and egg sandwiches, 100 steak sandwiches, and 3 vegan sausage sandwiches (hmmm). It was a 'baptism of fire' for me and I sincerely thank you for your efforts and support.

Kindest regards
Bruce

Results Update:

Further to my 'thank you' earlier, Bill has completed the reconciliation on last night's event and advises that we had a $1734.00 net profit. We could not have made any more because we sold out so, once again, thank you for a great effort.

Cheers

Bruce
