President's Report
What a pleasure to have Mark Howison, along with his wife Dale, join us last Monday as our guest speaker. It was a real enjoyment to listen to Marks humorous stories included in his book “13 Pairs of Boots”. We wish him well with the book.
This week we have our meeting transferred to Lower Blue Mountains on TUESDAY night. Meet at Leonay Golf Club between 6.15 & 6.30 to order your meal and be ready to be seated by 7.00pm with the Great Debate to commence at 7.30pm. We wish our ‘team” of Paul, Peter & Marilyn all the best. It will be a pleasure to welcome long time friend of the Club, Ron Fuller, as the adjudicator.
It was great to catch up with PP Peter on his brand new “bright red” transporter while out in Winmalee Village. Peter is really enjoying being able to get out and about – even travelling all the way to Springwood and back.
Please remember to get those Surveys completed and to Dee by end of the month. You can hand them to her or if you wish it to be anonymous email or post to me and I will forward unopened to her.
There are also some informative articles included in this issue that may be of interest to you.
District Governor Elect is calling for expressions of interest in district committees for 2022-2023. Let me know if your keen and I’ll forward the details.

Peter S and his Red Runabout!

It was great to see Peter S out and about with his new wheels this week. Not only does it have all the bells and whistles, it goes faster ( because it’s red) it has long range capabilities. Peter has taken his new ride to Springwood and back ( though some of footpaths need careful negotiation) So keep an eye out for Peter
and his new wheels and wave as he zooms past.

An Appeal from Shelterbox
First shipment of aid arrives as much of the country remains underwater
A ShelterBox Response Team is in Pakistan working to get emergency shelter aid to thousands of people left with nowhere to live, following the devastating floods. Our initial emergency response will aim to support thousands of people in the KPK (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) and Sindh provinces.
For our first project, we are working in partnership with Islamic Relief Worldwide and Islamic Relief Pakistan to distribute tents, water filters and carriers, mosquito nets, and solar lights to thousands of people affected by the floods.
Once our aid is in-country, we’ll be delivering training with our partners, on how to use our equipment and erect tents so that this knowledge can be shared with the affected communities.
If you are one the generous supporters that have already donated, please accept my sincere thanks on behalf of those people that will receive essential aid in the coming days 😊.
Many thousands remain without basic shelter and clean water, at risk from the elements and disease. If you haven't donated yet, please consider making a gift today.

Many thanks for your support
Mike Greenslade
CEO ShelterBox Australia

13 Pairs of Boots

A very enjoyable and entertaining talk by David Howison about his adventures walking around Australia with his father in 1973 and the book he has written about this journey:
