I am sure this is going to be an interesting and informative evening where we get to gain a deeper understanding of trauma a homicide has on children and young people as well as gaining an appreciation of the highly valuable work Grace’s Place performs. We are meeting at 4.00pm at the Sports Club carpark to car pool to the venue. We had a quiet week activity wise, with our scheduled Saturday Bunnings BBQ needing to be cancelled due to lack of numbers to be able to hold this fund raising event. Our Community Director, Johannes reports even with several members volunteering to do all three shifts we couldn’t get a team together to successfully undertake the event. I’m informed this is only the second time we have needed to cancel due to not having sufficient members able to assist on the day.  I certainly appreciate this is a busy time of the year for many of us, but also, I would ask that as events are scheduled and we seek your assistance that you think about your ability to give just a few hours on that day if at all possible. In closing on this matter, I do sincerely thank the members and friends of the Club who consistently ‘put their hand up’ to undertake service.

 

Last Monday evening the Board met for our monthly meeting and as usual it was a good night where we discussed a number of matters that affect and impact our Club. The minutes of that meeting have now been emailed to all members, so to ensure you remain fully informed of your committees’ activities.   

 

You will have received your invitation to the Club’s Christmas Party that will be held at Paul and Suzanne Erickson’s. I know it’s going to be a fantastic evening and I would ask that you send your RSVP as soon as possible so that catering and set up arrangements can be finalised.

 

Also, we now have our Christmas raffle organised and we thank Sheryn for arranging this. The prize is a lovely hamper of hairdressing products, chocolates and a perfume and hand lotion gift pack. Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5. I will have tickets available for sale tomorrow night at the Grace’s Place visit, so please bring some cash to purchase. Tickets will also be available at Club meetings in the coming weeks, so again please have some cash available. For those who want to purchase ‘remotely’ please just email me liz.roberts2783@outlook.com with the number of tickets you want and I will write them up for you and provide you with payment details and your ticket numbers.
