President's Report
Thanks to all who were able to attend our first Vocational visit last Monday to Bens Cafe.  I’m sure all who attended agree that the meal, service & atmosphere along with the overview presentation were most enjoyable. Well done Bronwyn.
Looking forward to reports on Friday’s Fathers Day Breakfast at Faulconbridge School and Saturdays Springwood Festival. The roster for Saturday has been sent out, so if you thought you had volunteered and haven’t received it please contact either Bill or myself or turn up between 9 & 3 to assist and give one of the “all day” members a rest.
Working on the often used statement of one of our members – “It’s better to ask forgiveness than seek approval” I have signed off on the sponsorship of an outbound exchange student from Bligh Park who had been accepted by the District Committee as the three Clubs in the Hawkesbury could not make a decision before the cut off deadline for exchange of paperwork. This does not have any financial or “hosting” burden on our Club. More details to follow shortly.
In consultation with our programme chair Bronwyn, we have accepted the challenge to a debate from Lower Blue. The debate will be on Tuesday 27th September at Leonay Golf Club and be a transferred meeting from Monday 26th. The topic will be advised very soon. I am looking for volunteers to form “Our Team”, so please have a think and let me know asap.
Our guest speaker this week, Thea Laffin , is the daughter of our very own Dee and I am looking forward to hearing all about the RFS Fire Awareness Campaign.
Other good news is that our District Grant of $2500 for the Defibrillator programme has been approved. Work can now commence on working out where to place them and how to make the Community aware of where they are if the need for one arises.

We did not quite run out of food but came pretty close and a signifigant number of children and guardians were fed!
Thanks to those that helped out and did the work on the day with a very early start!
